I remember my first massage clearly, it had a powerful effect upon my life. I had not known how starved my body was for healing touch. Needless to say, that was a transformative moment in my life that led me to want to learn how to give this same healing touch to others.
I began my training in massage at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health while in residence there in 1991, and was certified as a Kripalu Bodyworker and certified as a Kripalu Yoga instructor. I graduated from the StillPoint School of Massage at Greenfield Community College in June of 2006, thus completing a total of 1000 hours of training.
You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your long term health. As we get to know one another and build trust, the process of massage becomes much deeper.
Communication is key. I encourage my clients to let me know how my work is feeling to them, if anything needs to change, how to make the massage better for them. For the most part though, clients prefer to drop into a silent depth, which is a good place to be.
Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to nurture yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you. I see massage as valuable mutual relationship where both the giver and receiver are involved in a process greater than the two. To me the gift of giving massage is a sacred activity, which enables me to approach the process as a sacred art form.
